Dear friend

As bombing resumes in Gaza with deadly consequences, it is more important than ever to challenge the arms companies and others complicit in the attacks.

Coming up this week, there are a couple of opportunities to say no to this complicity.

1. 5th December - Sadler's Wells Stop Banking on Genocide – Drop Barclays Now!

Barclays Bank has been funding arms companies complicit in the Israeli government's bombing of Palestinian people (find out more in the report from Palestine Solidarity Campaign, War on Want and CAAT). It is also the leading sponsor of Sadler’s Wells Theatre. It should not be using sponsorship money to launder its reputation in this way.

Join Culture Workers Against Genocide on Tuesday Dec 5th, 6.30pm outside Sadler’s Wells Theatre, as they tell the theatre to “Stop Banking on Genocide – Drop Barclays Now!”   More info/map/poster via the CAAT Events Page.

You can also read and sign the open letter here which has been signed by over 750 culture workers and received coverage in both The Stage and Arts Professional.

2. 7th December (but sign up ASAP): Arms factory picket

Our friends Workers for a Free Palestine say,

"Across two actions, over 500 workers have picketed arms factories that supply Israel, stopping lorries and employees from going in and out, and slowing down production at sites including BAE and Elbit Systems.

On Thursday 7 December we’re doing it again, but we need you to make it even bigger.

As part of an international day of action, we will be organising peaceful pickets at as many arms factories as we can across the country. Let's not wait for the British government to grow a conscience and stop these arms exports. Let's shut down the arms supply to Israel now.

Can you take the day off work to join us? Sign up by Sunday 3rd December to take part: https://airtable.com/appzGVmn17yqAQ4BS/shrSlZNmRpLRRsoQj

Israel’s genocide depends on international support. The time to act is now. Join us."

Thank you for your support.and for everything you do to resist the deadly arms trade.
